Vietnamese Food @ Jelutong

First trial on Vietnam food, a conventional eater like me was hesitant but gave in to persuasion. There have different food for different day. It's very creative and encourage people come on the specific day that selling specific food.

The price is not expensive.

The place is wide and big.

The Vietnam Coffee.
The Vietnam coffee is very different from the local coffee. The taste is bitter than the normal coffee we drink. They use tea to make the Vietnam black coffee. So the taste is very good and thick.

The BBQ Pork with Rice.
The BBQ Chicken is soft and yummy. There are also a slide of egg on the rice. This vegetable is fresh and the soup is complimentary.

The BBQ Pork with Bihun and Special sauce.
The Bihun serve with the Vietname spring roll. The source must mix with Bihun and the Special Vegetable. The Vegetable has a very heavy taste in the mouth. The Bihun is quite dry and full of vegetable.

No santan (coconut milk) curry mee @ Green Lane

For most people love curry mee because of its santan (coconut milk), this stall (located at the cross road juntion, when turning out of Green Road 4) has its usual crowd (and we meant really big ones) for their curry mee is so unique. Additional famous side dishes are fishballs (of all kinds from normal small and medium shapes to fish cakes), their chilli paste is one that definitely tinkles the taste-bud. For the spicy lover, you may have it in the morning as the breakfast.

You can see the soup is clear without santan.

Must order the different type of FishBall and eat with the chilli paste.

Besides, they do sell big prawn too. So, you can add on the big prawn with the price start from RM4 each. It depend with the size of the prawn.

Macallum Connoisseurs Coffee Company

Another new hang out place in Penang is the one which recently opens early 2015 , names Macallum Connoisseurs. They serve a varied of food in the menu, from bagels, to pasta to sandwiches to juices, coffees and baby-cinos (a single shot of chocolate, similar to that of Expresso except that Expresso is coffee).
Aglio-olio with pork bacon/ mushroom priced at RM18/ plate

In our first visit, we order our favorite pasta of all time aglio-olio. A little disappointed, as we have tasted so many aglio-olio in cafes in Penang and with so much hope in this, we found this to be really below our expectation line. Anyway, with some added chilli flakes, we still can do away. Mainly, it is because the aglio-olio has not enough spiciness and it's too oily.

The rose and vanilla tea however was a thumbs-up to end the meal and cleanse the oil. It is priced at RM8.00 per teapot.

Wan Tan Mee @ Lorong Ikan Masin

Located along Lorong Ikan Masin, is this little stall selling Wan Tan Mee (afternoon session). Well, maybe not so little after all, as I needed to wait for 30 mins before getting my plate of Wan Tan Mee. The crowd comes in as early as 12pm.
Setting up of the stall

Not really a fan of Wan Tan Mee, but this stall is one which I would recommend and worth the wait.

Prices:
Small bowl: RM3.40
Medium bowl: RM4.20
Large bowl: RM4.80

Prices are also very reasonable and the wan tan (dumpling) is really filling.

Famous Penang Food Loh Mee @ Carnavon Street

Today i'm going to introduce Chinese traditional food, Loh or Lor Mee. Further definition is noodles cooked in egg-starched gravy, serve perfectly with grind garlic and chilli paste. While there are many other stalls selling Loh Mee in Penang, this one is particularly unique.
Lebuh Carnavon/ Carnavon Street

The stall disclose its sizes of noodles with the corresponding prices

The Loh Mee is selling at a very reasonable price with a quality portion. The taste of the Loh Mee is awesome.

And so the uniqueness of the stall as mentioned is the availability of the duck eggs to be added into your Loh Mee.The taste of the duck is similar to that of Taiwan Egg.

Complete your mean with a cup of traditionally-brewed black coffee (kopi-o).
