Leona Lewis "Spirit" album review

Finally, my first music album review made its debut with Leona Lewis' first album named "Spirit". I have to first send my acknowledgement to my dear friend, Bennett George Lowe, who has agreed to be the main source for music and movie reviews for Beary Informative.

Support the originals!!

According to Bennett, "Listening to Leona Lewis’s debut album Spirit, you can’t help but wonder if she’s the “new”  Mariah Carey. I dare say she is, if not better! Her vocal gymnastics aside, this girl is simply down to earth and delivers each note with warmth and sincerity. Though her team of songwriters have given her a formulaic set of songs to work it on this album, the songs that stand out will surely end up being pop classics. The lead single “Bleeding Love” is no doubt the best track here with Leona’s  powerhouse vocals in full display. Other recommended tracks include Better in Time, Footprints in the Sand and Run(bonus track found on this Deluxe Edition of the album)."
I have personally love Leona's famous hit "Bleeding Love" and I am very sure when it first hit the market, everyone can practically sing that song.

Nyonya Cuisine

I could still remember the first nyonya restaurant I visited more than a decade ago, which was called the Dragon Inn, where they had very nice "Jiu Hoo Char" and some conventional nyonya dishes. Too bad, back then, internet was not very popular and blogging was definitely not known at all. I am not even sure if Dragon Inn is still open for business but if I happen to drive pass and find them still open, I will definitely pay them a visit and update you all.
Forget about Dragon Inn for a moment, today's post is on Restoran White House which is located in Penang Times Square. Restoran White House serves a variety of nyonya food as well as some western and malay cuisine.

See the very intriguing design of their menu

During my visit there with a friend, we ordered the 'special nasi lemak', 'nasi rendang chicken' and 'ice lemon tea'. The 'special nasi lemak' is good, the 'nasi rendang chicken' is definitely something we will order again in our next visit while the 'ice lemon tea' is so thick unlike the usually diluted ones.

Special Nasi Lemak

Nasi Rendang Chicken, notice the square-shaped rice (interesting, huh?)

The quench-thirsting ice lemon tea

Restoran White House offers a wide variety of cuisine besides the nyonya ones. I am definitely putting it into my "gonna-visit again list".
Have fun and happy eating! ;)

An unconventional way of shopping~~

Shopping has always been everyone's best hobby especially to the female counterparts. I personally love to shop and buy! Lucky for me, I am able to find a group of friends who share the same interest. While we enjoy the conventional shopping escapades, we recently dip ourselves into online shopping. And...to our surprise, this is a very addictive exercise indeed! The joy of going through all the pictures of attractive models donning those beautiful tops, skirts, shoes and even bags are so captivating that we could not help but to fall prey into such economy.

Online shopping has indeed seen its growth over the past few years with more and more sellers coming up. Sales of fashionable wears from tops to bottoms to shoes to bags to accessories and even beauty products such as cosmetics, masques and the list goes on! This phenomenon has indeed made its growth and is definitely going to grow bigger in the coming future.
Online shopping is not just applicable for women as it also caters for men. Stuffs like laptop, games, cd's, dvd's and many more which are of interest to men are also found online.
Having made purchases from different buyers, I have to point out that there are definitely untruthful sellers out there ready to cheat our money.  However, knowing very well we have no priorities to check our goods before payment, we can just count on our luck. Anyway, many sellers now practise a 1-week (more or less) full refund for faulty goods. So, be sure to check your goods immediately upon receipt.
And, just for some readers who are curious as to where to get good goods, here are some pictures of what I have gotten from reliable sellers whom I recommend!

Oh ya, besides all the nice products to suit your taste, another advice to remember when shopping online is to deal with sellers with quick and good respond skills.
Well, so much for now, good luck and happy shopping!

camera or ka-mie-ra?

Notice the beautiful pictures I posted in this post, I had actually used the pictures taken by a friend. Her new maroon-coloured CANON camera is by far the best camera I have ever seen, that is if you exclude the DSLR's.

This 12.1mp camera, namely CANON PowerShot SX200 IS is uniquely coloured in maroon and has 12x optical zoom. It also comes in blue and black. Having had the opportunity to put my hands on this bold creation, the feature that I like most about it is the "pop-up" flash. It makes it look like a mini-dslr. See here for more information.

In a nutshell, I would recommend this camera to those who want to have a portable (not that light though) yet able to capture sophisticated pictures kind of camera.
By the way, the purchase of the camera comes along with a velvet pouch too!

Buffet for 4 (or 5)?

If you are looking for a place with variety of food and not so pricey, you should try Hardwicke House, Penang. It is situated along Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah or known as Northam Road, just right next to Northam tower. I went there recently for buffet lunch with my colleagues. Priced at RM18++ per person, they currently have a promotion of buy 4 free 1 until 30th November 2009.

Coffee and tea is also presented in a very unique way...however, we would like to point out that the handle hole of the cup is a little too small to fit our fingers (or maybe just adults' fingers)
"Fish Vindaloo" (middle) is 1 of our favorite dishes

As you can see, there are 8 types of fruits for your pick!A variety of desserts too!
Besides all the delicious food, they also serve a variety of wine. Notice the wine cellar my colleagues and I found. So, you can also go there for drinks.
p/s: thanks to xf for being my model

All in all, Hardwicke House is worth a try. At night, they also serve BBQ buffet dinner at RM38++ per person.
