Famous Penang Food Loh Mee @ Carnavon Street

Today i'm going to introduce Chinese traditional food, Loh or Lor Mee. Further definition is noodles cooked in egg-starched gravy, serve perfectly with grind garlic and chilli paste. While there are many other stalls selling Loh Mee in Penang, this one is particularly unique.
Lebuh Carnavon/ Carnavon Street

The stall disclose its sizes of noodles with the corresponding prices

The Loh Mee is selling at a very reasonable price with a quality portion. The taste of the Loh Mee is awesome.

And so the uniqueness of the stall as mentioned is the availability of the duck eggs to be added into your Loh Mee.The taste of the duck is similar to that of Taiwan Egg.

Complete your mean with a cup of traditionally-brewed black coffee (kopi-o).

fried fish rice set RM5.90

fried chicken rice set RM5.90

Though food here is priced affordably, I would think twice visiting for the second time as the presentation and the taste of the food is rather bland.

MAMA One Ton Mee @ Lorong Susu, Penang

A colleague recently introduced this place to me. They are famous for 'wan tan mee' yet their menu has many other varieties such as rice set and other types of ramen as well. I fell in love with this place instantly after my first visit and whenever i ran out of ideas for lunch, i would come here.
rose hawthorn drink RM1.80

coloured pork rice RM6

fried pork rice RM6

mapo-tofu rice RM6 (not really the taste i would go for mapo-tofu as this one contains too much vinegar)

Their basic 'wan tan mee' starts from the price RM3.50. I would really recommend this place as it is clean and don't take much serving time.

Wang Chao, Gurney Drive

It it not easy to find a place with good service and good food. At Wang Chao, you get a personal waitress (dressed pretty sexily too). Although I would say prices of the food, the taste do match up to the prices you pay. Plus the good service, I do not see any reasons why I am not returning there to dine again. :)

fried brocolli and tofu RM12 (recommended)

century egg soup RM38 (recommended)

fried vegetables with brinjal RM15

dong bo rou RM22

steamed fish with spicy sauce RM39 (recommended)

claypot sea cucumber RM38 (a little too salty)

Besides this outlet, Wang Chao also has another outlet at Taman Pekaka.
