Tsurukame Shabu Shabu @ Queensbay Mall

It was my first time to enter a Japanese which offers buffet steamboat. This is a newly opened restaurant on the third floor, in front of "Queens Food Market" food court of Queensbay mall. Very uniquely decorated which a selection to sit outside or inside of the restaurant.

their menu
inari sushi-RM8
potato salad-RM7
agedashi tofu-RM6
nabe kimuchi-RM20
chi jimi-RM12

I would say the food is comparatively reasonable with that of other Japanese's. However, i don't quite find them delicious. And thus, i don't think i am going back again. Besides, the dishes for steamboat are put on the conveyor belt and they don't look as fresh.

Swensons @ Juru, Autocity

I guess it has been some time since i last went to Autocity. There are so many choices of dining at the latest happening spot, but we decided to dine at Swensons.
its menu
caesar salad-RM12.90 (highly recommended!)
cheese macaroni-RM15.90 (too diluted)
fish sambal-RM15.90 (taste just like any other grill fish)

I guess Swensons is still the best for desserts! :)

Clinic Cafe @ Gurney Plaza

I love catching up with friends because it gives me the opportunity to dine at new places like the recently newly opened theme restaurant, Clinic Cafe at Gurney Plaza. Following its name, this cafe is decorated just like a hospital, only with more cheers (red colour). Even the waitresses and waiters are dressed like nurses, doctors and surgeons. They call their kitchen the "surgery room". Interesting, huh?

Food-wise, they serve fusion-type from oriental to western to a little Malay such as nasi lemak.
fresh carrot juice-RM6.80
honey lemon-RM5.30
iced white coffee-RM6.80
clinic chicken pasta-RM11.80
black pepper chicken pasta-RM11.80
yong zhou fried rice-RM7.80

The taste of the food are only so-so. I guess people go there more to experience a different ambiance of dining. I am one who will most probably not go back as i have gotten the taste of dining in a well-decorated "hospital". :)

Invited Review at Tree Monkey

It was a Sunday and i get to dine with the monkeys at Tree Monkey. :) Before i proceed explaining about this place, i would like to thank Mr. Warren for the food review invitation. The place is located right next to the Penang Spice Garden, which is a little pass Hard Rock Hotel, Batu Feringghi. Anyway, there was no monkeys during the entire dining session, instead i spotted a few squirrels. :)

Tree Monkey adapts a serene and relax concept with all its tables and chairs made of wood imported from Indonesia.
Sitting on the deck allows you an overview of sea. They hire all Thai chefs and thus they serve Thai cuisine. As the bloggers were invited for a food review, we were hence served some of their popular dishes.
Thai tapas which comes with a choice of 8 pieces (RM30), 12 pieces (RM45) and 16 pieces (RM60)
Asian tapas which comes with a choice of 8 pieces (RM60) and 12 pieces (RM90)
tomyam soup (comes with Asian tapas)-not spicy enough
tumeric rice(to be eaten with Asian tapas)-RM14.80
sunset paradise (only available between 6-7pm)-RM10
coconut ice cream
a view of sunset
Workers there are really friendly, not sure if that was because they knew we are bloggers. Honestly, i would say that the food there is a little pricey. You rather convince yourself that you are paying for the ambiance instead. Also, the distance of the place would make you think twice. Besides that, you don't have to worry about parking as there are abundance along the road. They also provide free insect repellents just in case you notice the existence of the little creatures. :)

Extra information:
Choices for Thai tapas:
Thai toast, money bag, herbs chicken, spring roll, pandan chicken, otak otak, mussels salsa, lemongrass stick, prawn sarong, prawn sabai, Thai fish cake, crab

Choices for Asian tapas:

Grand Opening of Dragon-I @ Gurney Plaza

It was the grand opening of Dragon -I restaurant at Gurney Plaza and for this special day, CIMB card holders get to enjoy a 50% discount on the entire bill for dining in at 1pm onwards.
I was lucky as I have a friend holding the card. The queue was so long as some rushed there to catch a glimpse of super star who made their way for the grand opening. I didn't get to experience as i went there after work and it was already over by the time i arrived. By the time we reached, it was already 1.30 pm and we were given number 58!
huge crowd waiting for their seats??

the matching-red menu
titbits appetizer - you can choose not to take this as you need to pay for it (RM2)
ramen with minced meat & mushroom in spicy sauce-RM13
Shanghai steamed meat dumpling-RM9
sauteed spare rib with signature sauce-RM22
honey glazed crispy eel-RM16
braised beancurd with minced meat & chilli sauce in Sichuan style-RM18
souffle egg white ball with red bean paste & banana-RM10
barley beancurd skin soup with gingko & quail egg-RM6

I have always wanted to visit Dragon-I since they opened their first branch at Queensbay Mall as everyone complimented how good their food is. Nevertheless, after having tried it myself, i felt that it was only so-so. Take the eel for example, i will never order it again as it carries a fishy smell even after glazed with honey.
The noodle and rice was ok though. As well as the desserts. However, there are  way too many in the menu and i need to make a few more trips to try all.
Till then, happy eating, folks!! :)
